Iolanda Abato - RDH
Iolanda came to America when she was 9 years of age from Italy with her parents and three siblings. She loved going to school and wanted to become a doctor, but because of the old world ways of her parents, she got married immediately after high school and went to work at a clothing factory. She had always wanted to go to college, so when her two children were older, she quit her job in 2001 and applied to the Dental Hygienist program at Erie Community College, got accepted and in 2004, graduated with her Registered Dental Hygiene Degree. Iolanda has worked at Gentle Dentistry since 2005.
"I love my job because it is so much more than just cleaning teeth. We have a great team of people here who really do care about your health and the community," says Iolanda.
In her free time she likes spending time with her family, cooking and helping others.
Maryann Kaczmarek, RDH
Knowing that she wanted to work in the medical field, Maryann was open to different careers. As a child she loved going to the dentist and was encouraged by her long time dental hygienist to check out the hygiene program at Erie Community College. Maryann graduated from Erie Community College in 2007 with a degree in Liberal Arts and Science. She was then accepted into Erie Community college's Dental Hygiene program. Maryann graduated in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science - Dental Hygiene. She received her New York State License and began her career here at Gentle Dentistry.
Maryann is passionate about dental health and also loves to give back to the community through volunteer dentistry. Maryann enjoys working with our new and existing patients helping them to achieve healthy oral hygiene. She has helped countless patients overcome some of their dental fears and ease their minds about coming in for their treatment.
She loves spending her free time with her husband, Jason, and dogs, Fenway and Dakota. Maryann and Jason enjoy attending sporting events, concerts and local community events.

Melissa Wollschlager was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She currently resides in South Buffalo with her husband Erik, daughters Kaitlin and Taylor, and son Noah. The family has two dogs Rebel, a pitbull mix, and Damara, a lab mix, that were obtained from local rescues.
In her spare time, Melissa stays active in her children's Home School Association as secretary and has chaired many fundraising events for both their school and softball teams. She plays softball in the summertime and Broomball in the winter. Melissa can also be found on the diamond coaching some of West Seneca's youth softball teams in the summertime. She enjoys spending time with her family locally and throughout the country, letting her children experience history outside of a text book.
In 2004, she graduated from Erie Community College with dual Associate degrees in Science and Dental Hygiene. Melissa continued her education with a pre-dental focus at Buffalo State College and completed her Bachelors in Science in 2005. Melissa started off as a dental hygienist at Gentle Dentistry of East Aurora in 2006 and transferred to the Lancaster location when it opened in 2010.
